PUBLICATION ETHICS

ABDIMU: Jurnal Pengabdian Muhammadiyah

Ethical Commitment

ABDIMU is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. All parties involved in the publication process are expected to follow ethical standards as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Authorship

Authorship is limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. The corresponding author must ensure all appropriate co-authors are included, have approved the manuscript, and consented to submission. All authors share responsibility for the research ethics and quality.

Consent Required Justified Changes

Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin). Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references) will be returned for revision, while those exceeding 30% will be rejected outright.

Max 20% (Revision) >30% (Reject)

Duplicate Publication

Submissions must be original and not published or under review elsewhere. Simultaneous submission or republishing substantially similar content constitutes duplicate publication and is unethical. Identified duplicates will be rejected or retracted, and authors' institutions may be notified.

Originality Required

Conflict of Interest & Funding

Authors must explicitly declare any potential financial or non-financial conflicts of interest, financial sources, or personal associations that might influence the study. Undisclosed conflicts may lead to manuscript rejection or retraction.

COPE & ICMJE Compliant
DUTIES OF REVIEWERS & EDITORS

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers must perform assessments objectively and constructively while maintaining strict confidentiality. They must promptly disclose any potential conflicts of interest, notify the editor of relevant uncited published work or plagiarism, and never use submitted content for personal gain.

Duties of Editors

Editors make publication decisions based solely on academic merit, relevance, and originality without bias regarding author traits. Editors must ensure review confidentiality, prevent conflicts of interest, and take appropriate action against research misconduct (such as retractions or corrections).
